Ocean (Orbicular) Jasper palm stone (no.1)
Named because the mines are found near the ocean in Madagascar. It has spherical orb patterns and so its scientific name is ‘Orbicular Jasper’. It was officially first discovered in 1999 at the Morovato mine, directly on the shoreline. However the existence of chalcedony deposits in the area were mentioned in the 1920s.
This is much more than a normal Jasper - its a silicified rhyolite. It has orbs, banded agate bits, opaque jasper parts and vugs lined with druzy quartz crystals.
Weight: 61 grms. 62 x 42 mms across approx.
Energetic Properties
The energies are lighter than normal Jasper. Every stone is a little different depending on the colours and patterning. This is a great stone for stress and it may feel when you meditate or sit with it that you are actually by the ocean, and feeling any worries wash away. A good stone for letting go. It has a gentlly grounding and calming energy. Also gently uplifting and supportive and may help with confidence.
Where to use in the Energy field This stone is best used as a gentle grounder or on the base chakra. Lighter colours can go higher up in the energy field.
Vibration Works well alongside other crystals for stress such as Moss Agate and Blue Lace Agate.
Storing with other crystals - Ocean Jasper is 6.5/7 on the Mohs scale, and is a variety of quartz, so fine to carry or put with your other quartz crystals as they won't scratch each other.
Cleansing - Ocean Jasper is fine under running water and in sunlight.
Other cleansing techniques safe for all crystals are using sage or sound to cleanse.
Whenever cleansing a crystal the key is to use your intention for the crystals to be cleansed by the process as you are doing it - as energy follows thought.
